I am a yoga instructor, certified Health Coach, wife, mother of three, eternal student, seasoned expat and passionate lover of life! I love to learn, laugh, explore and strive to be thoroughly engaged in every aspect of my life.
I started practicing yoga in the late 90’s and was originally drawn to it as a balance to other physical activities I was doing at the time. There was something about the practice that kept me going back consistently for the years to come. I didn’t quite know what it was…but I loved it!
It wasn’t until I moved outside of the US to be with the love of my life that I really turned to the practice as a refuge from the craziness (and fear) of integrating into different cultures and languages as we moved from country to country. In the process, we had three children and life became a series of unknowns. It was the practice of yoga that helped me relieve stress and unwind, and soon it became a place of comfort in the midst of so many foreign experiences. Although I had been practicing for years, it was not until life got really complex that I realized the practices were really about self-discovery, connection and finding balance and ease during times of uncertainty. I began to pour myself into the studies, and haven’t stopped studying ever since.
I have completed numerous teacher trainings and have received certifications in Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Anusara and Alignment-Based Yoga. I also graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I studied with some of the leading health and wellness experts in the world. I realized the importance of nutrition and health in creating true balance in your life, and wanted to share this with my students and my family and friends.
I have been teaching yoga internationally, leading public and private classes and workshops for over seven years and have had the great fortune of studying with some of the most skillful and authentic teachers: Micheline Berry, Greta Hill, Desiree Rumbaugh, Sianna Sherman, Noah Maze and Rocky Herron. I am very grateful to have spent the last several years studying with Sianna Sherman, the founder and visionary of Rasa Yoga, an innovative style of yoga that fuses intelligent alignment and creative vinyasa flow with asana, mantra, mudra, pranayama, tantric philosophy and meditation. These dynamic classes are nourishing in mind, body, heart and soul.
For me, the practice of yoga, health and wellness is a way of life; a journey to be cherished and celebrated. It is my hope that I can share my passion with you on or off of the mat.
I currently live in Panama City, Panama. When I am not on the yoga mat, you can find me doing anything from driving my children around to school activities, experimenting with healthy child-friendly recipes in the kitchen, sporting my boxing gloves, traveling to new places or sipping a large green smoothie or enjoying a glass of wine!
